Tinora has gone a perfect 3-0 against Ayersville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Rams will host the Pilots at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Tinora earned an 8-3 victory over Hicksville. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Aces: they've now won five in a row.
Zoe Billings made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Billings was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Madison Spangler was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Christina Meyer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Ayersville came tearing into Tuesday's contest with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Archers get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory.
Like Tinora, Ayersville also got a great game from a two-way player: Kendra Waldron. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Waldron has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.
Waldron wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Allison Eldridge, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base. Eldridge has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
Ayersville's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Tinora, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Tinora hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. However, it's not like Ayersville struggles in that department as they've averaged .323. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Tinora skirted past Ayersville 3-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pilots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
