Soccer Recap: Catholic Central Takes a Loss

Catholic Central lost against Wheeling Central Catholic on September 10th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Crusaders lost 5-0 to the Maroon Knights. While losing is never fun, Catholic Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 340th in Ohio, while Wheeling Central Catholic are ranked 11th in West Virginia).

Catholic Central's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Wheeling Central Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Catholic Central will head out to face off against John Marshall at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wheeling Central Catholic, they will venture away from home to square off against Notre Dame at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wheeling Central Catholic's defense better be ready for this one: Notre Dame have averaged an impressive 4.8 goals per game this season.
