Volleyball Recap: Mountain Valley Comes Up Short

Mountain Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Centennial Rams. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Kandra Pollard paced Mountain Valley's offense, picking up 12 kills. Pollard got some help from Ivy Jean VanEgmond and her 23 assists. Finally, Milley Knight kept Mountain Valley's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Mountain Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Centennial, they pushed their record up to 4-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Mountain Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Sargent on the 4th. As for Centennial, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Creede on the 4th.
