Lafayette hasn't had much luck against Ballard recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Lafayette will head out to square off against Ballard at 6:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Wednesday.

Ballard will be up against a hot Lafayette team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. Everything went Lafayette's way against Paul Laurence Dunbar on Monday as Lafayette made off with a 14-2 victory. Considering the Generals have won three contests by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Lyla Hould made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Brynna Harris was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kierstyn Kelley, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Lafayette was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Ballard never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Christian Academy-Louisville with a sharp 13-0 win. That 13 run margin sets a new team best for the Bruins this season.

Like Lafayette, Ballard also got a great game from a two-way player: Ryleah Lawrence. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Lawrence has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI.
