Baseball Recap: Father Mcgivney Catholic Picks Up 18th Straight Win at Home

Father McGivney Catholic came tearing into Wednesday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Staunton Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The Griffins have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

David Carroll looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, Justin Terhaar was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Mason Holmes was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.
