Watauga extended their home winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Kate Sears. The Watauga Pioneers walked away with a 66-56 victory over the Hough Huskies on Friday with plenty of help from Sears, who dropped a double-double with 33 points and 14 boards. Her evening made it 14 games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points.

Julie Matheson was another key player, shooting 50% from the field en route to 12 points and five rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games she's played.

Watauga has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games. Hough's defeat dropped their record down to 20-8.

Coming up, Watauga will be playing in front of their home fans against Northern Guilford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northern Guilford will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Watauga surely won't give up without a fight. Hough does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
