Baseball Recap: Morristown-Beard Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Morristown-Beard ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Morristown Colonials 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Crimson have posted since April 1st.

Morristown-Beard got a great performance from Josh Greenwood as he tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off nine hits. Greenwood has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Morristown-Beard's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alejandro (AJ) Rodriguez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double. That double was Rodriguez's first of the season.
