Basketball Recap: Sonoma Valley Beats Vintage for Their Third Straight Victory

With a playoff win on the line, Sonoma Valley rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Vintage Crushers with a sharp 74-53 win. Winning may never get old, but the Dragons sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Vinny Girish continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 14 boards. He is becoming a predictor of Sonoma Valley's success: when he posts at least ten rebounds the team is 6-3 (and 8-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Grayson Sanders, who posted 11 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Sonoma Valley pushed their record up to 14-13 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 23.5 points. As for Vintage, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-18.

Looking ahead, Sonoma Valley will challenge American Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in American Canyon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. Vintage does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
