Football Recap: Rancho San Juan Trailblazers vs. King City Mustangs
Tuesday just wasn't the day for Rancho San Juan's offense. They were dealt a 44-0 loss at the hands of the King City Mustangs on Tuesday. The Trailblazers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
King City found their leader in underclassman Katia Slama, who threw for 269 yards and six touchdowns while completing 75.9% of her passes, and also rushed for 53 yards and a touchdown. Those 269 passing yards set a new season-high mark for Slama. Yesenia Rodriguez also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Rancho San Juan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for King City, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-5.
Rancho San Juan will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on King City at 5:45 p.m. on October 25th. King City has already played their next game, a 38-6 win against Soledad on the 9th.
