Mid-State - South recap October 29, 2013
Carson City-Crystal extended the longest winning streak in Mid-State - South this week by beating Potterville, 21-6. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Eagles.
Ashley lost to Breckenridge 55-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Adam Stremlow threw for 340 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 15-26 with 0 interceptions.
Daniel Cutler was a key player and the best on defense this week as Montabella fell to Evart. He recorded 1 fumble.
Keigan Ryckman was the best running back in the league this week. In 13 carries, he ran for 162 yards as Vestaburg bested Valley Lutheran. Christian Benavidez also contributed to the rushing game with 65 yards on the ground.
The Comets' Stremlow and Warner led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Stremlow has thrown for 2,500 yards this season, while Warner has 35 catches for 980 yards. Ryckman from the Wolverines leads the league in rushing with 823 yards.
Coleman's Warner needs only 20 receiving yards against Sacred Heart Academy to crack 1,000 for the season. So far this year, he has garnered 35 catches for 980 yards.
An important game coming up in Mid-State - South this week will be when Chad Klopf's team takes on the Irish. As it stands, the Comets are in second, while Sacred Heart Academy is in third.
Vestaburg made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,752 from 11,150. The improvement was largely due to a 42-6 victory over Merrill last week.
