Basketball Recap: Sam Houston Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Crowley, Sam Houston was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the North Forney Falcons 41-39.

North Forney's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taeshaun Benson, who posted ten points and six rebounds. That's the most boards Benson has posted since back in January. Zach Thompson was another key player, putting up 11 points and five rebounds.

Sam Houston now has a winning record of 6-5. As for North Forney, they moved to 7-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Sam Houston will square off against Rockwall-Heath at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. As for North Forney, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 51-46 victory against Midway on the 9th.
