Softball Recap: Chilton Takes a Loss

Chilton extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 8-10. They came up short against the Kiel Raiders, falling 15-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Tigers have suffered since April 28th.

Lauren Roehrig was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played.

As for Kiel, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-5-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

On Kiel's side, Liz Neils was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Neils was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last ten matchups.

In other batting news, Kaylee Voland was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Greta Schaeuble, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Chilton will challenge rival Valders at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Kiel is set to face off against their familiar foe Two Rivers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
