Basketball Game Preview: Winthrop Ramblers vs. Waynflete Flyers

The Winthrop Ramblers are taking a road trip to face off against the Waynflete Flyers at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Winthrop will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Winthrop was able to grind out a solid victory over Mount Abram, taking the game 46-38.

Meanwhile, Waynflete hadn't done well against Old Orchard Beach recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Waynflete walked away with a 33-20 win over Old Orchard Beach. The victory was nothing new for the Flyers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Waynflete's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Winthrop, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Winthrop beat Waynflete 42-35 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Will Winthrop repeat their success, or does Waynflete have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
