Basketball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Evansville Memorial's Winning Streak

Evansville Memorial fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Gibson Southern on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Gibson Southern Titans by a score of 63-61. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tigers have suffered since December 12, 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Evansville Memorial lost, don't look at Luke Ellspermann. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. Ellspermann's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Asher Evans was another key player, going 7 for 11 on his way to 18 points.

Gibson Southern's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances.
