Recap: Hobgood Charter Raiders vs. Bear Grass Charter Bears
The Hobgood Charter Raiders suffered their biggest loss since November 28, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Bear Grass Charter 56-27. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hobgood Charter in their matchups with Bear Grass Charter: they've now lost three in a row.
Bear Grass Charter was led to victory by Aubrey Dotson and Carolina Harrell. Dotson scored ten points along with seven steals and six rebounds, while Harrell scored ten points along with four steals. Harrell has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hylee (Al) Jarrett, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Hobgood Charter has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Bear Grass Charter, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hobgood Charter will take on Cape Hatteras at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bear Grass Charter, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mattamuskeet at 6:00 p.m. Mattamuskeet comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
