The Lunenburg Blue Knights will face off against the Quabbin Regional Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Lunenburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

While Lunenburg's victory against Littleton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Blue Knights narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Tigers 6-5. Six seems to be a good number for the Blue Knights as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Maddie Thibault made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Thibault was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Thibault wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ellie Zivojinovic, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Lunenburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Quabbin Regional came up short against Oakmont Regional on Friday and fell 9-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost five in a row.

The win made it two in a row for Lunenburg and bumps their season record up to 6-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Quabbin Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Lunenburg beat Quabbin Regional 6-3 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Blue Knights repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
