Football Game Preview: Little River Academy Bumblebees vs. Franklin Lions

Little River Academy is 0-6 against Franklin since November of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Bumblebees will take on the Lions at 7:30 p.m. Little River Academy will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.

Little River Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Rockdale 55-21 on Friday. The Bumblebees pushed the score to 48-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Little River Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brian Grissom, who rushed for 220 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 12.9 yards per carry. Grissom is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 140 every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Hoffman, who picked up 82 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Little River Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 306 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 187 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Franklin not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since November 14, 2024 (when they won 48-6). They claimed a resounding 68-27 win over Troy. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Franklin now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Little River Academy, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Little River Academy was dealt a bruising 51-15 defeat at the hands of Franklin in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Bumblebees, Jayden Jackson (who rushed for 157 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
