Basketball Game Preview: Little Elm Lobos vs. Hebron Hawks

The Little Elm Lobos will take on the Hebron Hawks at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Hebron took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Little Elm, who comes in off a win.

Little Elm took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Coppell out 56-53. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Lobos' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Cowboys are ranked 99th).

Shiloh Kimpson and Adrianna Drake were among the main playmakers for Little Elm as the former went 9 of 21 en route to 22 points in addition to six assists and five steals and the latter went 5 for 7 on her way to 17 points. That's the most points Drake has posted since back in November of 2023. Another player making a difference was Raniyah Hunt, who posted eight points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Little Elm was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Hebron was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Guyer and fell 56-28. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Hawks have suffered since December 20, 2024.

Hebron's defeat dropped their record down to 10-17. As for Little Elm, their win bumped their record up to 7-21.

Everything came up roses for Little Elm against Hebron in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 58-30 victory. Will Little Elm repeat their success, or does Hebron have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
