Douglas waltzed into their match on Saturday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They really took it to the Newcastle Dogies for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-14 win. With the Bearcats ahead 44-10 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Douglas' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bailey Wright, who went 10-for-14 to rack up 26 points in addition to five boards and five steals. Those 26 points gave Wright a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lauren Olsen, who went 10-for-21 on her way to 23 points and three steals.

Douglas was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Newcastle only racked up four assists.

Douglas pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.8 points over those games. As for Newcastle, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.

Douglas didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 74-17 victory against Chadron on the 11th. As for Newcastle, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 45-38 loss against Upton on the 11th.
