Dorman skates past Shelby with ease

Recap: Dorman Cavaliers vs. Shelby Golden Lions

Make it five blowout wins for the Dorman Cavaliers this season. They breezed by Shelby at home to the tune of 77-23. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Dorman has managed all season.

Dorman's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Morgan White, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. White has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nakiyah Kelly, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.

Shelby's loss on Tuesday came despite strong showings from Dereon Kee and Nakia Blake. Kee scored eight points, while Blake scored no points.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Shelby struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Dorman racked up 22 assists.

Dorman's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Shelby, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Dorman will head out on the road to face off against J.L. Mann at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. J.L. Mann will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. Shelby won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cherryville at 5:00 p.m. on January 3rd. Cherryville is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
