Carroll County won the last time they faced Pendleton County and things went their way on Friday too. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since March 28th.

Landon Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Carroll County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Treavin Shovlin, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Destin Noffsinger also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Carroll County and bumps their season record up to 9-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Pendleton County, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-12-1.

Looking ahead, Carroll County will challenge Owen County at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Pendleton County, they will face off against Nicholas County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bluejackets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.61 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
