Baseball Game Preview: Fairfield Falcons vs. South Bend Adams Eagles

The Fairfield Falcons will square off against the South Bend Adams Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither Fairfield nor South Bend Adams posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Fairfield is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Wawasee 2-1. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Fairfield's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Avery Christner, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave Christner a new career-high.

Meanwhile, South Bend Adams came up short against NorthWood on Thursday, falling 10-1.

Fairfield skirted past South Bend Adams 7-6 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
