Baseball Game Preview: Marshfield Pirates vs. Junction City Tigers

For the second straight game, Marshfield will face off against Junction City. The Pirates will venture away from home to challenge the Tigers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

Marshfield fell victim to Junction City and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Pirates' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Junction City's part, Jayden Lucas tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over 6.1 innings pitched.

At the plate, Josh Berry was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Junction City has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Marshfield, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-5 record.
