Midland won the last time they faced Hathaway and things went their way on Friday too. The Rebels put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 20-4 victory. Considering the Rebels have won seven matchups by more than 14 runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Gracie Meyer made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ainsley Staffford, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, two triples, and three runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Mackenzie Credeur was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Midland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive contests.

Midland's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-14. As for Hathaway, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9-2.

Looking ahead, Midland will head out to square off against Lafayette at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
