Softball Game Preview: Fern Creek Tigers vs. Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees

The Fern Creek Tigers will take on the Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Fern Creek's last matchup with Male could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Thursday. The Tigers lost 12-4 to the Bulldogs. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Trinity Neal was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Weihe, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 18 runs the game before, Bethlehem was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They came up short against Central Hardin, falling 8-1. The Eagles/Banshees' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Fern Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Bethlehem, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.

Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Fern Creek hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like Bethlehem struggles in that department as they've averaged .423. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
