It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Culver City ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 18-16 win over the Hawthorne Cougars. The victory continues a trend for the Centaurs in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won nine in a row.

Alahna Moran was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Christen Hardy-Taylor, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one triple.

Culver City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .386. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Culver City's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Hawthorne, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Culver City will challenge Centennial at 3:35 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hawthorne, they will be playing at home against Bishop Conaty-Loretto at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
