Volleyball Recap: Antietam Comes Up Short

Antietam was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Schuylkill Valley Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on April 8th.

While Antietam had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-23, 25-22.

Michael Pinkerton paced Antietam's offense, picking up six kills. Pinkerton got some help from Brayden Yelk and his 17 assists. Finally, Pinkerton was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Antietam's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Schuylkill Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Antietam is set to square off against their familiar foe Berks Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Schuylkill Valley will take on rival Kutztown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
