Basketball Recap: Boca Raton Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Boca Raton challenged Calvary Christian Academy on Saturday. The Boca Raton Bobcats fell to the Calvary Christian Academy Lions 56-50.

Calvary Christian Academy was led to victory by Alexis Brown and Samantha Lecas. Brown dropped a double-double on 17 points and 21 rebounds, while Lecas almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine boards. The matchup was Lecas' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keeva Heggins, who posted ten points and six steals.

Boca Raton has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their record now sits at 7-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boca Raton will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Palm Beach Gardens at 7:30 p.m. on January 14, 2025. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on January 6, 2025 against Trinity Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. Calvary Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.4 points per game this season.
