Selkirk is 0-3 against Mary Walker since December of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Both teams will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Selkirk is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Selkirk suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2023 on Saturday. They took a serious blow against Northport, falling 85-31. Selkirk has not had much luck with Northport recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, Mary Walker unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Inchelium by a score of 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Mary Walker has suffered yet this season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Andru Pinyan, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Lawrence, who scored seven points along with 14 rebounds and two blocks.
Selkirk bumped their record down to 0-13 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.1 points per game. As for Mary Walker, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5.
Selkirk was dealt a bruising 74-42 defeat at the hands of Mary Walker in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Mary Walker's Teko Cates, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
