Baseball Recap: Discovery Canyon Wins Going Away Against Liberty

Discovery Canyon won the last time they faced Liberty and things went their way on Saturday too. The Thunder blew past the Lancers 11-4. Considering the Thunder have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Ryan Egan looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nate Singleton, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Carson Seeley, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Discovery Canyon lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty didn't launched any home runs.

Discovery Canyon's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Liberty, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Discovery Canyon will head out to challenge The Classical Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Titans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Thunder's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Liberty, they will challenge Vista Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
