Basketball Recap: Great Oak's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Great Oak lost against Murrieta Valley back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Great Oak Wolfpack took a 68-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Murrieta Valley Nighthawks.

Murrieta Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaizahn Lewis, who went 8 of 15 en route to 19 points and eight rebounds. The match was Lewis' ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Parker Steffen, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 16 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Great Oak's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5. As for Murrieta Valley, they moved to 12-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Great Oak has already played their next contest, a 75-50 loss against Vista Murrieta on the 10th. As for Murrieta Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-57 defeat against Murrieta Mesa on the 10th.
