Baseball Game Preview: O'Bryant Tigers vs. Boston English Eagles

O'Bryant hasn't had much luck against Boston English recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tigers will head out to face off against the Eagles at 10:00 a.m. Both teams are still undefeated (O'Bryant has three wins , while Boston English has 19 dating back to last season).

O'Bryant had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Excel Academy Charter on Monday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Wolves.

Sebastian Delosantos and Mulugeta Norwich made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Delosantos struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Norwich tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Delosantos scored a run while going 1-for-1, while Norwich went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Wasly Vizcaino, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Anderson Sweeney, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Boston English earned an 8-5 win over Charlestown on Wednesday.

Boston English's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for O'Bryant, their record is now 3-0.

O'Bryant might still be hurting after the 12-3 defeat they got from Boston English in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
