Baseball Recap: Collins Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Collins barely beat Bullitt Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Collins was the clear victor by an 11-4 margin over Bullitt Central on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Titans, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Carter Poole made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Poole was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

In other pitching news, Preston Miller looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit.

Back at the plate, Eli Ware was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Wyatt Shafer was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Collins kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Collins' record is now 5-1. As for Bullitt Central, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Collins will host Lafayette at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Collins is facing Lafayette at the right time seeing as Lafayette is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bullitt Central, they will take on Oldham County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
