Basketball Recap: East Valley Comes Up Short

It was a classic East v. West duel when East Valley duked it out with West Valley on Tuesday. The East Valley Knights were outmatched by the West Valley Eagles and fell 69-24. The match marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Malaki Nunn was East Valley's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Nunn also led the team in rebounds with nine. Michael Martin took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

East Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points over those games. West Valley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
