Basketball Recap: North Tahoe Lakers vs. Yerington Lions
North Tahoe lost against Yerington back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The North Tahoe Lakers took a 49-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yerington Lions. The Lakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why North Tahoe lost, don't look at Cormac Springsteel. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Seth Hendricks, who went 5 of 7 en route to 13 points and three blocks.
Kenneth Picotte was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds for Yerington. Picotte has been hot, having also posted three or more steals the last six times he's played. Colby Rowe was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight boards.
North Tahoe's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Yerington, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Coincidentally, both will both be playing Pershing County the next time they take the court. Yerington will host Pershing County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while North Tahoe will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
