Baseball Recap: Carroll's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Carroll had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Taylor Titans on Wednesday as they made off with an 11-3 win. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Carroll let Brycen Jamison and Cale Peters run wild. Jamison went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Peters went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two hits gave Jamison a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Travis Tinsman, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Carroll was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Taylor only posted a batting average of .080.

Carroll's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-7. As for Taylor, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carroll will face off against Eastern at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Taylor, they will take on Madison-Grant at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
