Basketball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for Montour

Montour extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Ama Tening Sow. The Montour Spartans put the hurt on the West Allegheny Indians with a sharp 83-60 victory on Tuesday thanks in part to Sow, who dropped a triple-double on 33 points, 18 boards, and ten blocks. The game was his seventh in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Trey Hopper, who posted nine points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Montour pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.6 points per game. As for West Allegheny, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-6.

Coincidentally, Montour and West Allegheny will both be playing Moon Area the next time they take the court. West Allegheny will host Moon Area at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Montour will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
