Basketball Recap: Broughton Comes Up Short

Broughton was the 63-44 winner over Cardinal Gibbons when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The match between the Broughton Capitals and the Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders didn't end well, with the Broughton Capitals falling 58-44.

Despite the loss, Broughton still got an impressive performance from Hudson Fitzgerald, who posted 14 points. What's more, Fitzgerald also posted a 67% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024. Christian Outlaw was another key player, putting up nine points.

Cash McSweeney continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cardinal Gibbons, dropping a double-double with 22 points and ten rebounds. Cardinal Gibbons is 14-5 when McSweeney posts ten or more boards, but 2-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Griffin Cockerham, who earned nine points and seven rebounds.

Broughton's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Cardinal Gibbons, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-9.
