Baseball Recap: Hopewell-Loudon Comes Up Short

Lakota hit Hopewell-Loudon with a four-run seventh inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Chieftains fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 7-6. That's two games in a row now that the Chieftains have lost by just one run.

Kellen Frankart made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Hopewell-Loudon and nudges their season record down to 13-4. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Lakota, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season.

Hopewell-Loudon will face off against Margaretta at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lakota, they will square off against Mohawk at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Raiders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
