Basketball Game Preview: Mount Vernon Patriots vs. American Prep WV Eagles

Mount Vernon hasn't had much luck against American Prep WV recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mount Vernon Patriots will be playing at home against the American Prep WV Eagles at 7:00 p.m.

Mount Vernon is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Milford on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Mount Vernon took a blow against Milford, falling 87-24. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-14.

Andre Hernandez put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted six points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Song, who had seven points.

Meanwhile, American Prep WV didn't have too much trouble with Salt Lake Academy on Friday as they won 66-48.

American Prep WV is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points per game. As for Mount Vernon, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.
