Baseball Game Preview: Rock Port Blue Jays vs. Maysville Wolverines

The Rock Port Blue Jays will face off against the Maysville Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Rock Port comes in on three and Maysville on five.

On Friday, Rock Port made easy work of DeKalb and carried off a 13-1 win. Considering the Blue Jays have won 11 matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jadyn Geib made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tayden Cook, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Westyn Amthor, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Maysville got the win against Cameron on Friday by a conclusive 14-4.

Maysville's victory bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Rock Port, their win bumped their record up to 19-3.
