Volleyball Recap: Rolesville Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Rolesville was the 3-0 winner over Athens Drive when they last played one another on September 4th, but their luck changed this time around. The Rams took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars on Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-22, 17-25, 25-14.

Despite the defeat, Rolesville saw an underclassman step up: freshman Rouelle Pineda had 15 assists and seven digs. Those 15 assists set a new season-high mark for Pineda. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Woodle, who had ten digs and three assists.

Leading Athens Drive to victory were Annie Baublitz and Holden Carroll. Baublitz had 44 assists and 13 digs, while Carroll had 20 digs and two assists. With that strong performance, Baublitz is now averaging an impressive 13.6 assists per game.

Rolesville's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Athens Drive, their victory ended a seven-match drought at home and bumped them up to 3-15.

Rolesville has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Heritage on the 1st. As for Athens Drive, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Broughton on the 2nd.
