Baseball Game Preview: Rye Thunderbolts vs. Colorado Springs Christian Lions

The Rye Thunderbolts will venture away from home to square off against the Colorado Springs Christian Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rye has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 20.

Rye fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Las Animas on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, Colorado Springs Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 12-2 to Front Range Christian.

Ben Garl was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season.

Colorado Springs Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Rye, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Rye came up short against Colorado Springs Christian in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, falling 9-4. Can the Thunderbolts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
