Football Recap: Needville Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Columbus + How To Watch

Needville lost to Columbus back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Bluejays managed a 17-13 win over the Cardinals. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Bluejays' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Cardinals are ranked 66th).

Needville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Kaden Jakubec.

Needville now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Columbus, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Needville will head out to square off against El Campo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Columbus, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Madisonville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
