Basketball Recap: Gibson County Now 16-3 over Last 19 Games

Gibson County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They really took it to the Ripley Tigers for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-24 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-13.

Gibson County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Georgia Lannom, who posted 15 points. That's the most points Lannom has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was A'Kira Riding, who put up 14 points.

Gibson County has been performing well recently as they've won 16 of their last 19 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.4 points per game. As for Ripley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
