Volleyball Recap: Pebble Hills Spartans vs. Chapin Huskies
After flying high against El Paso on Tuesday, Pebble Hills came back down to earth. The Spartans took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chapin Huskies on Friday. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
Pebble Hills started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-18, 25-11, 25-22.
Addison Pollock paced Pebble Hills' offense, picking up 11 kills. Pollock got some help from Raelyn Shaver and her 36 assists. Kylah Dickerson and Abbie Carrillo kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.
Chapin found their leader in sophomore Gianna Dominguez, who had 22 digs and five aces. Dominguez is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.
Pebble Hills dropped their record down to 7-12 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Chapin, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pebble Hills will challenge Permian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chapin, they will face off against Immanuel Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
