While South Point didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Chesapeake Panthers with a sharp 17-2 victory on Friday. Considering the Pointers have won three matchups by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kota Copley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Copley was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Copley is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Saratina Jackson, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Alli Stidham also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

South Point kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chesapeake only managed three hits.
