Football Recap: High Point Christian Academy's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

High Point Christian Academy extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 4-0. They put the hurt on the Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders with a sharp 56-35 win. Fans of the Cougars have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Jaylen Moore and Hez Krider. Moore rushed for 236 yards and three scores while picking up 7.2 yards per carry while Krider rushed for 182 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries. Moore's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 14th straight game with at least 100 rushing yards dating back to last season.

High Point Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 414 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 244 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

High Point Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cam Norton and Krider. High Point Christian Academy received some extra help from Micah Russell, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Having lost for the first time this season, Harrells Christian Academy fell to 3-1. They have struggled against High Point Christian Academy recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Harrells Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jeremiah Davis, who rushed for 112 yards and one TD, and also picked up 92 receiving yards and one touchdown. He got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 79 yards. Dashaun McKoy was another key player, gaining 111 total yards and two touchdowns.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. High Point Christian Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Trinity Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Harrells Christian Academy, they will take on Hickory Grove Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
