Softball Preview: Grundy County Panthers vs. Meadville Eagles
The Grundy County Panthers will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Meadville Eagles at 5:00 p.m.
Last Thursday, Grundy County came up short against Novinger and fell 10-5.
Meanwhile, Meadville entered their tilt with Novinger on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wildcats , sneaking past 10-9.
McKinlee Fletcher was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, a triple, and a triple. Clara Burnett was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Grundy County's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Meadville, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Grundy County skirted past Meadville 6-5 when the teams last played back in September of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Grundy County since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
