Softball Recap: Central Valley Christian Comes Up Short

Central Valley Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-13 heartbreaker at the hands of the Exeter Monarchs. Even if the Cavaliers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Central Valley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Exeter, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 10-5.

Coming up, Central Valley Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Washington Union at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.64 runs per game on average), something the Cavaliers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Exeter, they will head out on the road to challenge Reedley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Monarchs are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
